Minato Mirai Bon Odori
The largest summer festival in the Minato Mirai area, this bon odori stage attracts nearly 20,000 visitors every year. Feel the ocean breeze and have a glass of cold beer as you listen to the sound of taiko drums and bon dance tunes. A great way to end a pleasant date in Yokohama!

Midtown Summer 2025

Good Luck Chimes
Fuurin Matsuri
Hear the sound of the wind from all over Japan at Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine. Take in the picturesque sights of beautifully designed wind chimes and don't forget to snap a photo or two. You might also be able to buy one of the wind chimes at the festival as a souvenir.

Ueno Summer Festival

Don't miss the chance to explore the charming local neighborhood of Asagaya, known for its cute shops and cafes, as well.

Boom, Boom, Boom
Meiji Jingu Gaien Fireworks
One of the largest Tokyo fireworks festivals, the Meiji Jingu Gaien hanabi attracts over a million of spectators annually since it's initial start in 1980. Watch some 12,000 fireworks light up the sky.

Purifying Splashes
Fukagawa Hachiman Matsuri
One of the three great Shinto festivals in Tokyo, along with the Kanda Matsuri and Sanno Matsuri, the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival is held at the vintage Tomioka Hachiman Shinto shrine in Tokyo’s Koto district. Dated back to 1642, the festival sees the shrine’s 120 mikoshi being carried down the local streets while the onlookers splash purifying water at the mikoshi-bearers. You will definitely get wet at this event, so go well prepared.

Nocturnal Adventures
Night Zoo At Zoorasia
Let the kids stay up for a little longer and take them on a date to a night zoo where they can see the usually sleeping fauna in their usual habitats late in the evening. The zoo will also be illuminated for the event, turning it into quite a unique date spot.

Floating Wishes
Asakusa Paper Lantern Festival
One of the most beautiful and symbolic festivals in the capital, this event sees thousands of visitors write their wishes on paper lanterns and releasing them in the Sumida River from the Sumida Park Shinsui Terrace near Azuma-bashi Bridge.
