1. Yomiuri Land Water Amusement Island (WAI)

2. Tokyo Summerland
Make a great family outing to remember and kick start your summer at one of Japan’s biggest tropical theme water parks, located just one hour away from central Tokyo. 3. Oiso Long Beach (Kanagawa)
Many hot and sweaty Tokyoites find that traveling to Oiso Long Beach is entirely worth the one-hour journey to deal with the heat and to have fun. 4. Tobu Super Pool (Saitama)
For a guaranteed fun-packed family day trip, you can’t go wrong with visiting Tobu Zoo in Saitama Prefecture. This spacious water park, located within the greenery of Hasunuma Seaside Park, features a variety of pools for all ages, including a wave pool, a lazy river and a dedicated children’s pool. If you’re up for a thrill, don’t miss their most exciting attraction—the Splash Shaker. This dynamic ride seats up to three people in a giant raft and launches you from 20 meters up with a heart-racing 90-degree drop, followed by wild side-to-side swings in the twist zone. Entry into this park is a bit more affordable due to attraction tickets being sold separately per ride (¥300–¥600). You can save a bit more by purchasing a discount voucher book (¥1000), which gives you ¥1,200 worth of tickets. Ride tickets can be used like cash at participating attractions (1 ticket = ¥100). 10. Futtsu Park Jumbo Pool (Chiba)

The park overlooks Tokyo Bay, and on clear days, you can even see Mt. Fuji from the nearby Meiji Centennial Observation Tower! The water park itself features a massive wave pool, a 90-meter-long lazy river and large swim zones for splashing or relaxing. Families will appreciate the dedicated children’s pool and multiple play areas throughout. Please note: Tattoos, including fake ones, are not permitted at any of the water parks above. Wearing full-coverage swimwear is a way to get around this. However, you cannot reveal the ink at any point inside the park, including the changing rooms, or else you may be asked to leave without a refund.
